Non Commercial Partnership “TEMPO” Objectives:

 ·        Development of innovative medical technologies

·        Commercialization of research projects, technology transfer

·        Enhancing of integration of Russian biotechnologists into global scientific community

·        Attraction of Russian and Western entities to the Russian biotechnology sector

·        Partnering with Western Industry and Academia

 Non Commercial Partnership “TEMPO” Activities:

• Coordination of Research & Development
• Educational training programs for competency building of “TEMPO” members specialists
• Quality improvement of preclinical drug studies
• Development of biotech products. Pilot production
• Clinical trials
• Creation of educational platform in GLP, GMP, GCP (GXP) areas and the base for regulatory affairs service
• Providing research support and coordination for “TEMPO” members in preclinical studies, bioprocessing, licensing, marketing and implementation of new drugs, biopharmaceuticals and technologies in compliance with the international standards
• Biosafety and biosecurity issues

“TEMPO” Chronology

 2002 November - the I. M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy together with ten Russian leading biotech and biomedical organizations initiated the foundation of a Non Commercial Partnership - Center of Modern Medical Technology ”TEMPO”

2003 – Strategy design, assessment of the Partnership's potential

2004 – “TEMPO” provided leadership to the BII-sponsored Russian delegation at BIO in 2004, San Francisco, USA

    - M.M. Shemyakin & Yu.A. Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences joined the Non Commercial Partnership “TEMPO”

 - Co-organizer of the 1^st International Conference on Molecular medicine and Biosafety, Moscow

2004-2005 - Development and implementation firstly in Russia the educational training program on GLP with RAPS participation

2005-2006 – Implementation of the Program “Biotechnology Entrepreneurial Competition”

          - Co-organizer of the 2^nd International Conference on Molecular medicine and Biosafety, and International Workshop «Bioterrrorism: possible objects for affections and counteraction methods», Moscow

 2006 - Research-and-Production Union “Microgen”, St. Petersburg State Medicine University named by I.P. Pavlov, Institute of Toxicology in St. Petersburg, D. I. Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, N. F. Gamaleya Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology joined the Non Commercial Partnership “TEMPO”

    -  “TEMPO” provided leadership to the BII-sponsored Russian delegation at BIO in 2006, Chicago, USA

 -  Co-organizer of the «3^rd  Working International Group - Cooperation on Bio-Initiatives in Russia and the NIS: Toward a True Partnership», Como, Italy

   - Co-organizer of the special session in the frame of the 3^rd  International Conference on Molecular medicine and Biosafety:  “Strengthening the Global Biosafety System Against Infectious Diseases”
